METHOD OF PREVENTING GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS IN PREGNANT WOMEN DEPENDING ON GENDER OF FETUS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61H1/00

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a method of preventing the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in pregnant women, depending on the gender of the fetus. Prevention of gestational diabetes mellitus is performed in two stages: in the preconception period and in the first trimester of pregnancy. Moreover, in the preconception period, women with a body mass index of 23–28 kg/m² are prescribed dosed aerobic physical activity in the form of walking at an average pace of 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening every day for 6 months before the onset of the planned pregnancy. At the stage of already established pregnancy in the first trimester, a non-invasive prenatal test is performed to determine the sex of the fetus, and those pregnant women whose fetal gender is identified are prescribed lateral gymnastics, which includes generally accepted exercises for pregnant women in the first and second trimesters with a frequency of movement repetitions twice as high on the right than on the left.

EFFECT: method reduces the risk of obstetric pathology, repeated hospitalizations, as well as drug load on the body of the mother and fetus.
