METHOD OF FUNCTIONAL DIAGNOSTICS OF LEVEL OF LESION AND CAUSES OF LOCAL OPTICOENCEPHALITIS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B3/02 A61B3/24

Abstract RU 2811507 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: manual kinetic perimetry is performed using chromatic objects of red and blue colors. The detection of visual field defects predominant in area when using a red object indicates the presence of an inflammatory process of infectious origin, spreading to the fibers of the ventral part of the visual pathway — magnocellular neurons. The detection of visual field defects predominant in area when using a blue object indicates the presence of an inflammatory process of demyelinating origin, spreading to the fibers of the dorsal part of the visual pathway — parvocellular neurons.

EFFECT: method allows to perform pathogenetically substantiated differential diagnosis of the level and cause of damage to the visual pathway in local optoencephalitis of an infectious or demyelinating nature, to improve the quality of timely started therapy through manual kinetic perimetry using chromatic objects of red and blue colors based on the different sensitivity of the magno- and parvocellular channels of the visual pathways to spatial and temporal frequencies of light stimuli.
