FIELD: electrical engineerin; measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and measuring technology and can be used to diagnose the condition of overhead power line wires, detect damage and ice on power line wires. A broadband rectangular pulse is used as a probing pulse. The reflected pulse U(tj) is received, where tj are the time points of measurement of the reflected pulse by the analog-to-digital converter of the reflectometer. A discrete Fourier transform of the received reflected pulse U(tj) of the reflectometer is performed to obtain harmonic amplitudes. Adjusted amplitudes are determined taking into account the known spectrum of the probing rectangular pulse Bi - where Bi is the amplitude of the harmonic of a rectangular pulse with the same frequency as Ai, Bmax is the maximum amplitude of the harmonic of a rectangular pulse. Of all the A'i, the main harmonics of the corrected reflected pulse Ak are distinguished, having an amplitude greater than C*Amax: Ak>C*Amax, where C is a tuning parameter, for example С=0.5, the amplitude of the maximum reflected pulse of the reflectometer among all adjusted harmonics A'i. Using harmonics Ak, the inverse Fourier transform is performed: the obtained dependence of the Uo(tm) signal on time is used as the shape of the probe pulse of the reflectometer optimized for current conditions. At the same time, the spectrum of this probing pulse Uo(tm) is optimized for the bandwidth of this transmission line and the reflection conditions of the probing pulse.
EFFECT: location sensing of power lines is carried out.
