FIELD: blast furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of agglomerate, which is a raw material for a blast furnace. High strength agglomerate is obtained by granulating the mixed sintering raw material including iron ore powder using a granulator, and sintering the resulting granular sintering raw material using a sintering machine. At the same time, at least 80 wt.% moisture, added during granulation, served with an average droplet diameter of at least 120 mcm and not more than 2000 mcm. The size of the moisture droplets is adjusted during granulation so that at least 80 wt.% of the moisture has a given droplet diameter within the range from average drop diameter× 50% before average drop diameter× 200%. Moisture contains small particles with a diameter of no more than 15 mcm with their share of no less than 0.5 wt.% and no more than 12 wt.% by weight of the mixed raw material for sintering. The average diameter of moisture droplets is not less than 560 mcm and not more than 1570 mcm.
EFFECT: high strength agglomerate.
