FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of producing pesticides, more specifically to a method of producing chlorsulfuron, which is a selective systemic post-emergence herbicide from the class of sulfonylureas. The method involves reaction of 2-chlorobenzenesulfonamide with 2-(phenoxycarbonyl)amino-4-methoxy-6-methyltriazine-1,3,5 in an anhydrous polar organic solvent in the presence of an organic base. The interaction is carried out at a temperature of 20–25 °C for 1–2 hours in an atmosphere of nitrogen or argon or in air without access to moisture. After the interaction, the resulting reaction mass is treated with acid to obtain the target product, it is isolated and purified.
EFFECT: simplification of the instrumental design of the process, reduction of the duration, elimination of the use of elevated temperatures, as well as unstable and toxic starting compounds or reagents, increasing the safety of the process and obtaining a high-quality target product with a yield of 80–83%.
