FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of organic compounds and specifically to a method of producing monosulfuron of formula (I). Method involves reaction of 2-nitrobenzene sulphonamide with 2-(phenoxycarbonyl)amino-4-methylpyrimidine in a polar organic solvent in the presence of an organic base at temperature of 20-25 °C for 1-2 hours with subsequent treatment of the obtained reaction mass with water and acid to obtain the end product, its extraction and purification.
EFFECT: improved technical and economic parameters of the monosulphuron production process due to simplification of its hardware design, reduction of duration, elimination of use in it of unstable, hazardous and toxic initial compounds, intermediate products and (or) reagents and high temperature, increased safety and overall efficiency of the process, obtaining a target product of high quality with good output.
