METHOD FOR DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA REPAIR WITH TITANIUM NICKELIDE MESH IMPLANT IN EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/00 A61F2/08 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to diaphragm surgery. Abdominal cavity is approached by a median laparotomy, followed by mobilizing the left lobe of the liver to visualize the entire left dome of the diaphragm. Then, a diaphragmatic hernia model is created by applying a provisional purse-string suture on the planned area of the diaphragm defect, the diaphragm tissue in the centre of the purse-string suture is pulled towards the abdominal cavity by traction. Further, the purse-string suture is tightened on the knot, and the diaphragm muscle in the centre of the tightened purse-string suture is excised, then to the edges of the diaphragm defect the implant from nickelidotitanium mesh with the thread thickness of 130 mcm is fixed by U-shaped sutures with the implant edges overlapping the defect edges by 5 mm. Provisional purse-string suture is loosened and the implant is spread over the defect area; the suture is removed from the diaphragm tissues, the falciform and triangular ligaments of the liver are restored, and the anterior abdominal wall is closed in layers.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce operative injuries, allows to exclude development of intraoperative pneumothorax.
