FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method of prevention of escherichiosis in piglets is described, the said method includes the use of a vaccine against escherichiosis containing a cell-free culture medium consisting of thermolabile, heat-stable and Shiga-like Escherichia coli toxins inactivated by formaldehyde to its final concentration of 0.4% and adjuvants Al(OH)3 and an oil adjuvant. The first immunization of piglets is performed at the age of 10–12 days and the second — 5 days before weaning them from sows, for which the first immunization is performed 40 days before farrowing, and the second — 15 days before farrowing.
EFFECT: increasing the effectiveness of specific prevention of escherichiosis in piglets and expanding the range of medicinal products for the prevention of this disease.
