FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, urology and nephrology, and can be used for determination of iohexol clearance in computed tomography (CT). CT of kidneys with iohexol is performed, time of beginning of iohexol introduction is marked. After CT, urine is collected, its volume is determined, and the time elapsed from the moment of intravenous administration of the preparation to the end of urine collection is noted. After stirring, 100 ml of urine is collected in a radiolucent container, which is placed in a plastic container of a larger volume filled with water. CT scanning of the container is carried out and the X-ray density of urine in the container is determined. Urine iohexol concentration is determined by formula: K=(HU-25)/9600, where K is concentration of iohexol in urine — volume fraction; HU is x-ray density of urine. Further, iohexol clearance is determined by formula: Cio=(K×V)/T, where Cio is iohexol clearance; K is concentration of iohexol in urine — volume fraction; V is volume of received urine; T is the time elapsed from the moment of the preparation administration to the moment of the end of urine collection.

EFFECT: method enables to determine iohexol clearance without laboratory studies due to the use of CT.
