FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quality control of intumescent fire-retardant coatings of metal structures directly on site. Uniqueness of this equipment (device) consists in double-sided heating of the fire-retardant coating, which enables to achieve absolute swelling of the intumescent fire-retardant coating mounted on the metal structure. Proposed design of the device includes: a device of thermal and/or induction-thermal action, which enables to carry out heating of the fire-retardant coating applied to the metal structures from the outside; device which enables to heat the fire-retardant coating applied on the metal structures from the contact side of the coating and the metal structure, by means of local induction heating of the metal structure itself; a compartment for localization of swelling with a scale for estimating swelling coefficient of an intumescent fire-retardant coating.
EFFECT: providing the necessary and sufficient temperatures for absolute swelling and implementation of the natural mechanism of action of the intumescent coating, as well as creation of optimal conditions for absolute swelling of the intumescent fire-retardant coating by the method of double-sided thermal and/or induction-thermal heating to the whole depth for determining the swelling coefficient index with subsequent evaluation of quality of fire-retardant coating mounted on metal structures.
