FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for monosegmental correction of severe congenital kyphoscoliosis against the background of an isolated thoracic and lumbar hemivertebra in children under three years of age contains two monoaxial transpedicular screws for installation in adjacent vertebrae, two rods with a diameter of 3.5 mm for placement on the left and right sides relative to the spinous line branches, and fixing nuts. The monoaxial screw consists of a threaded part, a hollow head for horizontal placement of a rod with a diameter of 3.5 mm and a locking nut with the ability to provide rigid fixation of the rod. In the middle of the threaded part of the screw, the outer diameter is thickened from 3.5 mm to 4.5 mm, spindle-shaped, occupying one third of the threaded part. The height of the thread itself remains unchanged. At the border of the transition of the threaded part of the screw from a cylindrical shape to a spindle-shaped one, two notches are made on the thread profile, located contralaterally on the surfaces of the screw, turning into the side walls of the hollow head of the screw with the cutting edges directed counterclockwise, providing the possibility of subsequent unscrewing of the screw when dismantling the metal structure.
EFFECT: invention improves the reliability and strength of monosegmental fixation with transpedicular supporting elements and the effectiveness of correction and stabilization of severe congenital kyphoscoliotic spinal deformity with an isolated thoracic and lumbar hemivertebra in children under three years of age.
