FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing aromatic polysulphone, in particular, polyphenylsulphone used in production of super-structural polymer materials for high-tech industries – aerospace, radio electronic, automotive, electrical engineering, etc. Method consists in heating in an inert atmosphere to 65±5 °C a reaction mixture of equimolecular amounts of dichlorodiphenylsulphone, a mixture of phenolphthalein and bisphenol-A with a molar ratio of, respectively, from 11:89 to 67:33 in a dimethylacetamide solvent, including additionally 0.3–3.0 wt.% based on the amount of dry raw materials of zeolite type A, with introduction of heat treated at 450±5 °C potassium carbonate, followed by heating to the boiling point of the solvent, at which the reaction mixture is maintained until the required viscosity number is achieved, with subsequent dilution of the reaction mass with a solvent, neutralization with oxalic acid, filtration, precipitation from the filtrate into water, purification of the end product by multiple washing with hot water and drying.

EFFECT: method provides improved sanitary and hygienic conditions while implementing an environmentally more acceptable and reliable technology for producing high-purity polysulphone while reducing the duration of synthesis, and also allows to expand the range of unique properties of super-structural heat-resistant binders.
