SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to aerosol-generating devices. System comprises a casing comprising an air inlet, an air outlet and an air flow passage between them, a reservoir holding the aerosol-generating substrate, and a heating unit comprising a heating element and a capillary material. One side of the capillary material is in fluid communication with the heating element, and its opposite side is in fluid communication with the reservoir so as to transfer the aerosol-forming substrate to the heating element. Heating element is configured to heat the aerosol-generating substrate with generation of steam and comprises at least one mesh. Mesh has zero size of holes, so that when projecting wires or threads of mesh along a line perpendicular to mesh, on a two-dimensional plane, there are no visible gaps between the two-dimensional projections of the wires or filaments in order to suppress the passage of particles in the aerosol-generating substrate into the air flow passage.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of heating and formation of aerosol due to suppression of passage of particles into element generating aerosol.
