SUBSTANCE: invention represents a non-spore-forming Bacillus cell for producing a sialylated oligosaccharide, wherein said Bacillus cell is genetically engineered to contain lactose permease, a CMP-NeuNAc biosynthesis pathway and sialyltransferase, wherein the Bacillus cell sporulation capacity is impaired as a result of deletion or functional inactivation of one or more genes coding Spo0A, sigma E and sigma F. Invention also relates to a method of producing a sialylated oligosaccharide using said Bacillus cell.
EFFECT: disclosed is a non-spore-forming Bacillus cell for producing a sialylated oligosaccharide.
