FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to experimental medicine and intravascular imaging. This invention can be used for in vivo evaluation of vascular prostheses in experiment on laboratory animals. For research: animal is fixed and sedated, general anaesthesia is performed with connection of artificial pulmonary ventilation apparatus. Puncture site is shaved and treated with an antiseptic. Vascular bed is punctured on the side of the implanted graft. 0.035 guide wire is inserted through inserted introducer 6 Fr, followed by insertion of a guide catheter JR4.0 6 Fr. 0.035 conductor is replaced with 0.014 coronary conductor. Optical coherence tomography sensor is passed along the coronary conductor in the distal direction from the vascular prosthesis. Radiopaque substance 20 ml is introduced at rate of 10 ml/s, with a parallel drawing of the sensor at rate of 25 mm/s. OCT measures the intensity of infrared light returning from various structures of the arterial wall. Medium shows a dark and homogeneous signal due to fewer collagen fibres and an abundance of smooth muscle cells and an extracellular matrix. First step is to assess the quality of the obtained images and visualized structures, the presence of artefacts from blood corpuscles; at the second stage, image scale is calibrated for implementation of spatial resolution and measurement of sizes of vascular prosthesis structures of interest.
EFFECT: using this invention enables to obtain high-quality images of the vascular wall.
