METHOD OF DETERMINING MANAGEMENT TACTICS FOR PATIENTS WITH THYROID NODULES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B10/02 A61B8/08 G01N33/48 C12Q1/6886

Abstract RU 2817505 C2

FIELD: medicine; endocrinology; ultrasound and cytological diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to select tactics for managing patients with nodular goiter. A cytological examination (CE) of the fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNA) material, ultrasound examination (US) and compression elastography (CE) of the thyroid nodule are performed. And based on the results of all three studies, one of the following patient management tactics are chosen: surgical treatment, molecular genetic testing (MGT) of the TAB material, dynamic observation with ultrasound at intervals of 1–2 times a year, dynamic observation at intervals of 1 time per 3 months.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine the tactics for managing patients with thyroid nodules through a comprehensive assessment of the risk of cancer according to ultrasound, compression elastography and cytological examination of FNA material using result classification systems for each method.
