FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, in particular to oncology, and is intended for the differential diagnosis of nodular formations of the human thyroid gland. A sample of the thyroid nodular formation tissue is taken, the total RNA pool is isolated from the sample, the expression level of the HMGA2 gene, mitochondrial DNA is analyzed, and the V600E mutation in the BRAF gene is determined. The expression level of microRNA-146b, -221, -375 is measured. Additionally, the expression level of the GCM2 gene is measured. The conclusion about the presence and nature of nodular formation is made on the basis of the decision tree, according to which the analyzed sample is attributed to one of the selected from the following group: parathyroid nodular formation, benign thyroid nodular formation, malignant thyroid nodular formation, including papillary cancer, medullary cancer, Hurthle cell cancer, follicular tumors with malignancy markers.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the accuracy of the method for differential diagnosis of nodular formations of the thyroid gland and the expansion of its functional capabilities.
