CHEMICALLY HARDENED MICROCRYSTALLINE GLASS, METHOD OF PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC C03C21/00 C03C10/04 C03C10/14 C03C3/83

Abstract RU 2820189 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemically hardened microcrystalline glass, which can be used to protect screens of modern smartphones. Chemically hardened microcrystalline glass, in which the main composition of the glass matrix includes SiO2, Al2O3, B2O3, Li2O, Na2O, K2O, and the nucleating agent contains TiO2 P2O5 and ZrO2, has a Na/Li exchange layer and a compressive stress layer. Compressive stress layer depth and total thickness t of chemically hardened microcrystalline glass meet the following requirements: compression stress layer depth is from 0.15t to 0.22t, where t is in range of 0.3 to 0.8 mm. Intensity of compressive stress CS50 at depth of hardening of 50 mcm in surface layer of chemically hardened microcrystalline glass and total thickness t of chemically hardened microcrystalline glass correspond to the following: CS50 is 130 + (20 t - 13) × 15 MPa to 230 + (20 t - 13) × 15 MPa. CS50 and compressive stress layer depth correspond to the following: CS50/(Doc - 50) ranges from 1.4 to 6.

EFFECT: chemically hardened microcrystalline glass has high resistance to destruction on an uneven surface, and conditions for chemical hardening of microcrystalline glass are easy to control, so that the prepared chemically hardened microcrystalline glass has stable characteristics, high efficiency, and reduced preparation costs.
