FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and represents a method of extracting phycocyanins from an initial solution of phycocyanins, characterized by that it involves the following steps: a) selective deposition, which consists in adjusting the pH of the initial solution to a selected value in the range of pH values from 4.5 to 5.5, and concentrating the phycocyanins in the solution to facilitate precipitation thereof, by removing water or by tangential filtration with a cut-off threshold which enables to retain phycocyanin, and b) recovering precipitated phycocyanin.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain phycocyanin with high efficiency.
