METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING PERIPHERAL BLOOD FLOW DISORDERS IN DIABETES MELLITUS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/145 A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2822726 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to functional diagnostics and can be used for diagnostics of peripheral blood flow disorders in patients with diabetes mellitus. For this purpose, biological tissue is exposed to electromagnetic radiation of constant power with wavelength of 850 nm simultaneously in 4 areas of body – on dorsal surface of wrists in point located 2 cm above styloid process, and on plantar surface of 1st toes. Patient’s resting blood microcirculation index Im measured in wrists is recorded by laser Doppler flowmetry for 10 minutes. Recorded signals are subjected to amplitude-frequency analysis using wavelet transform and separation of oscillation amplitudes in neurogenic AN, myogenic AM and cardiac AC ranges. Derived values are used to calculate a nutritive blood flow parameter Imn, pf.units, a nutritive blood flow measured in toes, according to the developed mathematical formula. Then, two obtained values are used to determine coordinates of the point (Imn; Im) and mark it on the plane. Classification model in the form of a discriminant function D calculated by a mathematical formula is used to conclude that there is no peripheral blood flow disorder in diabetes mellitus when the point on the plane is below the line D or presence of peripheral blood flow disorder with position of point on plane above line D.

EFFECT: invention provides higher accuracy and information value of peripheral blood flow disorders diagnostics in patients with diabetes mellitus, which, in turn, will allow selecting the most effective therapeutic approach individually for each patient and monitoring the effectiveness of the provided therapy.
