FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refining of liquid iron. Oxygen blowing tuyere is introduced into converter, which supplies oxidizing gas and can rise and fall, and at least one burner tuyere capable of being lifted and lowered independently of the oxygen blowing tuyere. Either oxidising gas or oxidising gas and CaO-containing refining agent are blown from oxygen blowing tuyere onto liquid cast iron. Besides, flame is formed due to ejection of fuel gas and gas supporting combustion from burner tuyere. Powder particles supplied from the burner tuyere pass through the flame and are blown onto the liquid cast iron in a state corresponding to heat transfer, so that thermal compensation of liquid iron occurs.
EFFECT: invention provides the time spent by the heat carrier in the flame without the effect of adjusting the height of the oxygen blowing tuyere and the transfer of heat to the liquid cast iron without reducing the stability of blowing processes, and also contributes to obtaining a heat reserve for dissolving carbon steel.
