SUBSTANCE: invention relates to anisotropic electrical steel sheet and method of its production. Anisotropic electrical steel sheet comprises a base steel sheet, a glass coating formed on the base steel sheet, and an insulating coating with tension formed on the glass coating, wherein the base steel sheet has a plurality of linear deformation areas, which are arranged continuously or periodically in a direction intersecting with the rolling direction, each of the plurality of linear deformation regions has width of 210 mcm or less in the rolling direction, the plurality of linear deformation regions are parallel to each other, intervals of linear deformation areas adjacent to each other in rolling direction are 10 mm or less, and magnetostriction λ_0-pb in mcm/m at excitation of anisotropic electrical steel sheet to 1.7 T and magnetostriction λ_0-pa in mcm/m during heat treatment of anisotropic electrical steel sheet at 800 °C for 4 hours and subsequent excitation to 1.7 T satisfy condition 0.02≤λ_0-pb – λ_0-pa≤0.20.

EFFECT: providing a sheet of anisotropic electrical steel, having a favourable balance of magnetic losses/noise and adhesion of the coating.
