FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for preparing bacterial biofilms for examination in optical microscopy, which consists in fixing preparations with 1.0% glutaric aldehyde for 16–18 hours, subsequent contrasting with vapors of 2.0–4.0% aqueous solution of osmic acid for 2–3 minutes; for fixation, glutaric aldehyde solution is applied in aerosol.
EFFECT: invention widens the range of methods for producing preparations for optical microscopy with preserving the architectonics of biofilms of pathogenic bacteria.
