SUBSTANCE: invention relates to molecular biology, laboratory diagnostics, virology and epidemiology. What is presented is a method for determining HIV drug resistance mutations by sequencing protease and reverse transcriptase genes. Viral RNA is recovered, cDNA is obtained, which is used as a matrix when staging a PCR reaction. PCR reaction products are purified and sequenced. Mutations of drug resistance are analysed using public services.

EFFECT: invention enables detecting HIV drug resistance mutations with complete coverage of at least two continuous readings of the analysed fragment.
