SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cover for a container made from a material, at least part of which is obtained from natural fibres, for example from a material containing cellulose. Cover (1, 101, 201, 301) for container is made of material, at least part of which is obtained from natural fibres. Cover (1, 101, 201, 301) comprises cup-shaped body (2) having skirt (6) passing around axis (Z), and transverse wall (7) located transversely relative to axis (Z). Cavity (3) is formed inside cup-shaped body (2). Cup-shaped body (2) is limited by inner surface (4) facing cavity (3) and outer surface (5) facing the opposite side relative to cavity (3). At least one protruding element (16, 18, 22, 218, 316) extends from the surface of cup-shaped body (2), which is selected from the said inner surface (4) and outer surface (5). On the other surface of cup-shaped body (2), selected from said outer surface (5) and inner surface (4), at least one recess (17, 21, 23, 221, 317) is made at the location of said at least one protruding element (16, 18, 22, 218, 316).

EFFECT: design of a cover for a container made from material, at least part of which is obtained from natural fibres, and having mechanical properties which are as constant as possible in different sections of the cover.
