FIELD: packaging; storage.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cover for a container, in particular to a cover which can be obtained by moulding a polymer material. Container cover comprises end wall (4), skirt (2), which passes around axis (Z), and angular zone (5) located between end wall (4) and skirt (2). Corner zone (5) comprises first section (6) of wall, which projects from skirt (2) inside cover (1), and second section (7) of wall, which projects from end wall (4) and is connected to first section (6) of wall. First section (6) of the wall and second section (7) of the wall form a stepped transition on the surface of angular zone (5) facing the outer side of cover (1; 101). Cover (1) also comprises annular sealing edge (8), which passes towards free edge (30) of skirt (2) from zone of connection of first section (6) of wall with second section (7) of wall. Annular sealing edge (8) is limited by inner surface (9) made with possibility of interaction with outer side surface of container neck (31).

EFFECT: providing good structural rigidity of the cover, which ensures the container closing in a substantially tight manner.
