FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pulmonology, and can be used for diagnosing bronchial asthma in a patient by determining concentration of asymmetric dimethylarginine in blood plasma. Concentration of asymmetric dimethylarginine in blood plasma is measured by enzyme immunoassay and patient’s body mass index. Diagnostic coefficient K is calculated by formula: K = Y – (195.45 – 5.11 × X), where Y is asymmetric dimethylarginine, ng/ml, and X is BMI, kg/m2. If K is less than 3.126, the patient is diagnosed with bronchial asthma.
EFFECT: method enables the accessible and effective diagnosis of bronchial asthma by determining the concentration of asymmetric dimethylarginine in the blood and the patient’s body mass index.
