FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oncology and can be used for treating patients with stage I basal cell carcinoma. That is ensured by administering the photosensitizer Radachlorin in dose of 1 mg/kg to the patient. Then the tumour growth area is exposed to light radiation with wavelength in the range of photosensitizer absorption, with average radiation energy density of 320–370 J/cm2. Photodynamic therapy is carried out with a self-contained LED emitter with an irradiated field area equal to the tumour area with coverage of 0.5 cm in a circumferential direction beyond the clinically visible tumour. Light-emitting diode emitter is fixed on the surface of the tumour with the possibility of free movement of the patient during the session.
EFFECT: invention provides the effective treatment of this category of patients without signs of tumour growth and recurrences of the disease with observation for 2 months, wherein the risk of tissue damage in the radiation zone is eliminated and the photosensitizer burnout rate in the radiation zone is reduced while maintaining the level of singlet oxygen in the area of tumour localization.
