FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method of tensioning device installation on internal combustion engine includes fastening the device by means of a screw. Prior to installation of the device on the internal combustion engine, it is transferred into a compressed state by additional rotation of the rotary structure (RS) and fixed with a locating pin inserted into the through hole of the RS and the blind hole of the fixed structure (FS). After installation on the internal combustion engine, the drive belt is brought onto the outer surface of the pulley so that it is partially surrounded by the belt, after which the pin is removed from the FS hole and the conical torsion spring moves the RS around the hollow shaft and the pulley pulls the belt. Also disclosed is a tensioning device, which includes FS and RS, bearing bushing, hollow shaft, torsion conical spring, flanged damping bushing, ring, transmitting force, pulley, pulley bearing, bearing fastening bolt. FS is made in the form of a flange with a boss fixed on it. Locating pin is freely inserted into the through hole of the RS and into the blind hole of the FS. End of the spring is fixed by a bushing and a ring made of aluminium alloys and lined with engineering plastic. Pulley is made of engineering plastic with holes along the circumference and is permanently connected to the double-row bearing along the outer surface.
EFFECT: enabling simplification of device commissioning and improvement of its operational properties and design simplification.
