SUBSTANCE: neutron capture therapy system, comprising a neutron generation device and a beam forming unit, wherein the neutron generation device comprises an accelerator and a target, wherein the beam of charged particles generated during acceleration of the accelerator interacts with the target to generate neutrons, neutrons form a neutron beam passing along the main axis, and the beam forming unit comprises a support part and a main part filled inside the support part, the main part comprising a moderator, reflector and radiation screen, moderator comprises a main part and an auxiliary part surrounding the main part, and is configured to slow down the neutrons generated from the target to the epithermal neutron energy range, reflector surrounds the moderator and directs deflecting neutrons back to the main axis to increase the intensity of the beam of epithermal neutrons, and the radiation screen is configured to screen leaky neutrons and photons to reduce the dose for normal tissues in the non-irradiated zone.
EFFECT: use of this invention enables to obtain a better effect of fast neutron absorption and to reduce the content of fast neutrons in the beam, that is, to obtain a better quality of the beam and a better effect of treatment.
