FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: heater (10) for heating the aerosol-forming substrate. Heater (10) comprises a heating element configured to heat the aerosol-forming substrate, wherein the heating element comprises at least one PTC thermistor (24, 25, 260, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265, 27). Resistance of at least one PTC thermistor (24, 25, 260, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265, 27) increases when temperature of at least one PTC thermistor (24, 25, 260, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265, 27) increases within the stabilized temperature range. Lower limit of stabilized temperature range is control temperature (CT), at which resistance of at least one PTC thermistor (24, 25, 260, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265, 27) is twice greater than the value of minimum resistance of at least one PTC thermistor (24, 25, 260, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265, 27).

EFFECT: this makes it possible to effectively control the operating temperature of the heater while limiting the operating temperature of the heater by its configuration.
