FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for coating the surface of a steel part. Powder of coating material is placed on processed surface and the surface of rotating part through a layer of powder is exposed to indenter with spherical working surface, which performs ultrasonic mechanical vibrations. Indenter is moved along the processed surface of the part with feed . Part is rotated with frequency and radius of working part of indenter is determined from ratio: S is the indenter feed along the processed surface of the part, m/rev; r is radius of working part of indenter, m; A is the indenter oscillation amplitude, m; f is ultrasonic frequency of indenter oscillations, s-1; M is the oscillating mass of the indenter, kg; P is the force of pressing the indenter to the workpiece, N; σt is yield strength of part material at compression, Pa; D is the diameter of the treated surface, m.
EFFECT: plastic deformation of processed surface is provided in zone of contact with indenter for adhesive and diffusion interaction of coating material with processed surface.
