SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the tobacco industry, in particular to the production of aerosol-generating products. To implement the method of making at least one component of the aerosol-generating article, a marker is applied on at least one component of the aerosol-generating article. Amount of marker containing a component of the aerosol-generating article is detected. It is determined whether the detected amount of the marker is less than the first predetermined amount and the aerosol-generating component of the article is rejected when the detected amount of the marker is less than the first predetermined amount. Device for making at least one component of an aerosol-generating article containing a marker comprises a dispenser configured to apply a marker on at least one component of the aerosol-generating article. Sensor is configured to detect an amount of a marker which contains a component of the aerosol-generating article. Controller is configured to determine whether the detected amount of the marker is less than the first predetermined amount. Rejection system is configured to reject the aerosol-generating component of the article when the detected amount of the marker is less than the first preset amount. System for making at least one component of an aerosol-generating article comprises several process devices suitable for making at least one component of an aerosol-generating article. System includes a sensor suitable for detecting an amount of a marker which contains a component of an aerosol-generating article. Controller is designed to determine whether the amount of the marker which contains the manufactured component of the aerosol-generating article, is less than the first predetermined amount. Rejection system is configured to reject the manufactured component of the aerosol-generating article containing the amount of the marker less than the first predetermined amount.
