FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel supply systems of diesel internal combustion engines. Method of feeding ammonia into an inlet system of a diesel engine consists in feeding ammonia in a nominal operating mode of not more than 15-17%. As the load decreases, the ammonia fraction is increased by 7-8%, and then from 0.25% of the nominal operating mode of the diesel engine to the idling mode, 50% of the diesel fuel is replaced with ammonia. At the same time upstream the turbine pressure is more than pressure downstream the compressor, and the working medium flow is directed from the exhaust manifold to the inlet one. Air flow rate at cylinder blowdown at nominal mode is maintained at 2.4% of total flow rate through diesel engine. Effective movement of the valves during the whole blowing process shall be 2.8 mm.
EFFECT: preventing ingress of ammonia vapours during cylinder blowing into exhaust system and further into atmosphere.
