FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, namely to the production and cultivation of callus cultures of medicinal plants, and can be used in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of raw materials, which is a callus culture of the plant Mertensia maritima (L.) S.F.Gray line Mm-S1 in order to extract a complex of biologically active substances, in particular rosmarinic acid. Method consists in the following: undifferentiated cells of M. maritima are placed in culture vessels containing agar nutrient medium WB/A, and cultivated for 7 days in the dark at temperature of 25 °C and relative humidity 60±10%, after which the formed calli are cultured for next 21 days, irradiating them with red light with wavelength of 660±20 nm or green light with wavelength 520±10 nm and a flux density of photosynthetic photons of 100±10 mcmol/(m2⋅s) with photoperiod of 16 hours “day”, 8 hours “night” every day.

EFFECT: declared invention enables to obtain a callus culture of Mertensia maritima (Linnaeus) enriched with rosmarinic acid, wherein the process of cultivating the callus culture is carried out under conditions not related to cultivation and collection of plants in the field.
