FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing pointed-blade field-emission cathodes with a wedge-shaped apex for electrovacuum devices. One or a plurality of pointed-blade field-emission cathodes with tops in the form of a wedge are cut from a workpiece of refractory sheet metal or foil by laser milling on one laser installation without readjustment of its modes, and then oriented vertically relative to the workpiece. To reduce the effect of elastic deformations through slots of length a≤2l/3 are cut along the bending line in the process of vertical orientation of field emitters in the middle of the base of triangular faces, where: l is the base of the triangular face. For electrovacuum devices with a converging electron flow, pointed-blade field-emission cathodes with a wedge-shaped apex are formed on a flat workpiece, then, using a punch and a matrix, the workpiece is given a curvilinear surface, after which the tops of the pointed-blade field-emission cathodes are oriented in the direction of the curvature radius of the workpiece surface.
EFFECT: reduction of time expenditures, simplification of manufacturing technology and increase of field emission current from single pointed-blade field-emission cathode due to increase of emitting surface area.
