SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating article. Aerosol-generating article (10) for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated comprises aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), wherein aerosol-generating substrate (12) comprises a homogenised plant material containing tobacco particles and at least 2.5 percent by weight of the particles of the non-tobacco plant flavouring agent in terms of dry weight, wherein the non-tobacco vegetable flavouring substance particles contain particles of eucalyptus, star anise, cloves, ginger, rosemary or combinations thereof, and upstream element (46) located upstream of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12) and adjacent to the upstream end of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), and downstream section (14) located downstream of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12) and in axial alignment with aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), wherein downstream section (14) comprises one or more downstream elements.
EFFECT: improved overall flexibility of the homogenised plant material, which makes it possible to more efficiently collect or corrugate the homogenised plant material to improve the heating efficiency.
