FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopaedic dentistry and orthodontics, and can be used to determine a projection of an occlusal plane on a lateral teleroentgenogram in physiological occlusion. Lateral teleradiography is performed. Skin landmarks nasion (n) and subnasale (sn) are marked on the obtained lateral teleroentgenogram, and a nasal-subnasal vertical line (n-sn) is drawn through the obtained points. Thereafter, a line is drawn perpendicular to n-sn through point sn to intersect with the anterior surface of the upper jaw, and the obtained point is designated as Mx. Thereafter, a line is drawn perpendicular to n-sn through the point of supramentale (sm) to intersect with the anterior surface of the lower jaw, and the obtained point is designated as Mn. Then, an articular circle is constructed, the radius of which is the distance from the point Cond to the posterior occlusal point hPOcP. Tangent line A to the lower part of the articular circle drawn from the point Mn is a line parallel to the projection of the occlusal plane.

EFFECT: method provides improved quality of orthodontic and orthopaedic treatment of patients with various types of physiological occlusion due to accurate construction of projection of occlusal line on lateral teleroentgenogram.
