INSULATOR BREAKDOWN INDICATOR Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC G01R31/08

Abstract RU 2834182 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to devices used on overhead power transmission lines, and is intended to indicate breakdown of insulators. Insulator breakdown indicator consists of a pendulum equipped at one end with a fastening element on the end of the insulator, and a neodymium magnet fixed at the other end of the pendulum. Pendulum is made of elastic dielectric material. Neodymium magnet is installed with the possibility of magnetic fixation of the end of the pendulum with a discharger.

EFFECT: possibility of detecting a broken insulator during field inspection without the use of additional optical devices; simplification of repair after actuation.
