FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises casting composite ingot into mould and cutting surface layer of produced ingot. Cast ingot comprises inner area containing first aluminium alloy, outer area surrounding inner area containing second aluminium alloy, and zone with composition gradient between inner and outer areas. Second aluminium alloy differs from the first aluminium alloy, besides, in the zone with the composition gradient between the inner and outer regions of the ingot the content of at least one alloying element of the first aluminium alloy decreases in the direction from the inner region to the outer region. When cutting the surface layer of the composite ingot, at least a part of the zone with a composition gradient and the outer area are removed from the rolling surface.
EFFECT: exclusion of ingot cracking during casting and rolling is provided.
