FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to laser therapy, mycology. It can be used for treating onychomycosis. Method is carried out by photodynamic therapy using a mixture of demixide and chlorin e6 derivatives or 2 % aqueous solution of methylene blue as a photosensitizer. Prior to treatment, onychomycosis is pre-evaluated by SCIO index. Further, the affected nail plate is removed with a hardware manicurist, after which a photosensitizer is applied on the skin of the nail plates and bed for 10-20 minutes. At the end of the exposure, laser radiation is exposed at wave length 630-670 nm for 8.5 minutes at output power of the optical element of 700 mW and a dose of light energy of 100 J/cm2. Therapeutic course consists of 6-10 sessions for three months. If observing the SCIO index of more than 6, an additional course of systemic antimycotic therapy with intraconosol or terbinafine is required.
EFFECT: method is simple, enables to reduce length of treatment of onychomycosis.
