FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to endocrinology, and can be used for diagnosing subtypes of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The method consists in administering an oral glucose tolerance test with 75 g of glucose in females of 24-28 weeks of pregnancy. Blood plasma glucose level is measured on an empty stomach and 2 hours after the consumed glucose solution. Besides, fasting C-reactive protein is determined and patient’s weight is measured with accuracy of 0.1 kg. After determining said parameters, a diagnostic coefficient of GDM subtypes is calculated using the presented mathematical formula. At coefficient value ≥0.6295, the GDM subtype with insulin resistance is diagnosed, with the coefficient <0.6295 – GDM subtype with dysfunction β-cells.
EFFECT: method is reliable, enables to select the optimal treatment regimen for the patients.
