METHOD FOR PREDICTING FETAL MACROSOMIA IN WOMEN WITH GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS AND THREAT OF LATE MISCARRIAGE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/573

Abstract RU 2794822 C1

FIELD: medicine; obstetrics; gynecology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict fetal macrosomia from 23 week of gestation in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and threat of late miscarriage diagnosed from 13 to 22 weeks of gestation. Determine concentration of fatty acid synthase (FAS) in the peripheral venous blood of women from 13 to 22 weeks of gestation, if the value is equal to or less than 1.88 ng/ml, the development of fetal macrosomia is predicted from 23 weeks of gestation.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce the frequency and severity of obstetric and perinatal abnormality and timely prescribe preventive measures to minimize the risk of fetal macrosomia by using personalized approach to management of pregnant women with GDM and threat of late miscarriage.
