SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for determining microbial contamination of cellulose of bacterial origin (BC), comprising irradiating a BC sample with a source of ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength λex 193-310 nm, then, when recording the response fluorescence coming from the sample in the spectral band λem 321-350 nm, presence of tryptophan in the sample is diagnosed, when detecting response radiation in a spectral band λem 295-299 nm, presence of tyrosine in the sample is diagnosed, when detecting response radiation in a spectral band λem 300-320 nm, presence of tryptophan and/or tyrosine in the sample is diagnosed, when diagnosing tryptophan and/or tyrosine, contamination of the sample is determined, and in the absence of tryptophan and tyrosine, the absence of contamination is determined.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of determining microbial contamination of bacterial cellulose.
