FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Floating opacity of the vitreous body (FOVB) is detected ophthalmoscopically. Then echographically in B-scanning mode is measured distance from FOVB to retina. Retinal OCT angiography is performed. Area of the artefact shadow from the FOVB on the retina and its intensity are determined as the average intensity of the OCT-scan pixels in the shadow area, which is inverted relative to the grey scale image intensity. Vitreous opacity intensity factor (VOIF) is calculated by the developed formula. If VOIF is equal to 1321 and more, indications for laser vitreolysis of symptomatic FOVB are determined.
EFFECT: method provides optimization of indications for laser vitreolysis due to quantitative assessment of the most significant parameters.
