SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a method and a device for stimulating smoking cessation of a user. Device comprises a unit for sampling the air exhaled by the user and determining the level of exhaled carbon monoxide in the exhaled air as an indicator of the carbon monoxide level in the user’s body. If the level of exhaled carbon monoxide exceeds the first preset threshold value, a countdown time is determined, which corresponds to the value of the half-life of the level of carbon monoxide in the body of the user. Countdown time corresponds to the first time interval until the carbon monoxide level in the user’s body dissipates below the second preset threshold value, which corresponds to the expected level of exhaled carbon monoxide at the first preset threshold value. First timer is initiated to track the countdown time. Countdown time indicator is provided to the user. First predetermined threshold value is the level of exhaled carbon monoxide for a non-smoking individual.

EFFECT: providing training and motivation of users to reduce and ultimately quit smoking.
