FIELD: medical science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to industrial and clinical transfusiology, and can be used for assessing the haemostatic potential of a thrombocyte concentrate (TC). Analysed sample of the TC is collected. A sample of whole donor venous blood having a blood group similar to the one analysed TC is sampled. Part of the whole donor venous blood sample is used as a positive control when performing thromboelastography (TEG), a portion of the platelet-free venous blood sample is used as a negative control in carrying out the TEG; a portion is mixed with the taken examined TC sample in ratio 9:1 followed by the addition of calcium chloride. Maximum thromboelastogram amplitude and an amplification phase (k) are determined to derive a haemostatic recovery factor HR. If HR > 95% and k < 4, the TC haemostatic potential is considered to be high, with HR from 75% to 95% and k < 4 – normal, with HR < 75% or HR < 95% and k > 4 – low.

EFFECT: method provides the effective assessment of the TC haemostatic potential by thromboelastography in a medium similar to whole blood with enabled sorting and sampling of TC with the high haemostatic potential of thrombocytes by determining the haemostatic recovery HR.
