FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering and specifically to production of polymer biodegradable materials for making biodegradable packaging. Method of producing biodegradable polymer based on curd whey involves mixing 10 wt.% 0.1 M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution with 50 wt.% of purified curd whey with subsequent heating to 75±5 °C, adding 5.5 wt.% of silicon oxide (II); 5 wt.% of sodium phosphate; 4.5 wt.% of chitosan; 13 wt.% of vinyl acetate silicate; 4.5 wt.% of aminocaproic acid with subsequent heating to 110-120 °C and heating with constant stirring for 15-30 minutes. Then the mixture is cooled to 45-55 °C, 7.5 wt.% of propanetriol-1,2,3 is added while stirring, the mixture is poured into a mould with thickness of 0.2 mm, dried by convective drying at temperature of 37.5 °C for 8 hours.
EFFECT: disclosed approach enables to obtain a biodegradable polymer based on curd whey for producing film systems of different functionality.
