FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to design of protected wire for overhead transmission lines. Proposed wire comprises conductor 1 twisted from aluminium alloy wires with electrically conducting layer 2 and double-layer protective insulation applied there above. Electroconductive layer 2 is made of a cross-linked polymer composition containing a phenol-type antioxidant, an amine-type antioxidant and a sulphur-containing antioxidant. Inner layer 3 of the insulation is made from ethylene-propylene rubber or a cross-linked composition based on polyethylene, wherein the material of the inner layer of insulation 2 contains a phenol-type antioxidant, an amine-type antioxidant and a sulphur-containing antioxidant.

EFFECT: high resistance to thermal ageing.
