FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is use of recombinant microorganism of genus Escherichia for producing O-phosphoserine, wherein said microorganism has an increased activity of NADH:quinone oxidoreductase as compared to its endogenous activity, and where the increase in the activity of NADH:quinone oxidoreductase as compared to its endogenous activity is achieved by increasing the expression of the nuo operon. Also disclosed are methods of producing O-phosphoserine, cysteine and a cysteine derivative using said microorganism. Invention also discloses recombinant microorganisms of the genus Escherichia, having high activity of NADH:quinone oxidoreductase compared to its endogenous activity and having O-phosphoserine-producing ability, where the increase in the NADH:quinone oxidoreductase activity as compared to its endogenous activity is achieved by increasing the expression of the nuo operon, in which is further reduced activity of phosphoserine phosphatase (SerB) in comparison with its endogenous activity or increased activity of O-phosphoserine-exporting protein (YhhS) in comparison with its endogenous activity.

EFFECT: invention provides highly efficient production of O-phosphoserine.
